The bums are winning the war with the NYPD over a stretch of sidewalk in Harlem.
Despite days of intense efforts to dislodge dozens of vagrants from a notorious encampment near Metro-North’s 125th Street station, the spot remained a homeless haven on Sunday.
“The homeless own that corner. Nothing is going to change that,” said neighborhood resident Jacqueline Martin, 47.
“The officers that do come never do anything. They just have a talk with them. Some leave, others don’t. Police just aren’t taken seriously.”
Last Wednesday, a squad of cops rousted the squatters there as part of a crackdown ordered by Mayor de Blasio, who said, “We’re not going to tolerate homeless encampments.”
But the group was back the next day, with several homeless people vowing to resist eviction efforts.
A homeless man who gave his name as Bernard said Sunday, “We got cops harassing us every half-hour.
“They come by and tell us we can’t stay here. I don’t go anywhere. But I’ve got no cuffs on me yet,” he said.
“They could come every five minutes and I’ll chill with them. I don’t give a f–k. It’s a free country and I’ll sit or stand wherever I want.

“There’s like two officers standing here and like 30 of us. What are they gonna do? They can’t arrest all of us,” he added.
Floyd Parks — who last week vowed, “I will defy the order to move from out here” — said Sunday the streets are safer than homeless shelters.
Floyd ParksAngel ChevresttParks, 60, also reiterated his offer to meet with de Blasio to discuss the homelessness crisis.
“I dare him to make a surprise visit to a shelter and see it for himself,” he said.
“He’s out of touch. I don’t know how he expects to help us if he doesn’t know our reality.”
