Hoboken reopens
The Hoboken PATH station — the system’s only stop still shuttered after Hurricane Sandy — reopened today, officials said.
Trains began running between the busy New Jersey station and West 33rd Street in Manhattan at 5 a.m. and continue until 10 p.m.
Under usual conditions, the system runs 24 hours.
Hoboken was so flooded during the storm that the water was above the turnstiles and gushed out of the elevator at river-rapids strength.
Direct service between Hoboken and the World Trade Center will not resume for at least a few weeks, according to the Port Authority.
