Gov. Kathy Hochul’s office dredged up an embarrassing Dave Portnoy scandal involving his cheating ex-girlfriend after he blasted the governor as a “hypocrite” for calling on high-earners to return to New York.

The Barstool Sports founder took aim at the Democratic governor after she tried to coax the fleeing wealthy to come back to the Big Apple — even as Mayor Zohran Mamdani pressures her to hike their taxes.

“The unbelievable arrogance and hypocrisy of begging millionaires to return to New York while the new Mayor simultaneously says he despises millionaires and supports communism. I wonder why people are flocking to Florida?” Portnoy raged on X.

Hochul’s office bit back with an apparent reference to a cheating scandal that embroiled Portnoy nearly a decade ago when he found out his girlfriend had been having sex with her SoulCycle instructor.

“Is this why you’re so mad,” Hochul’s office posted on X alongside a screenshot showing New York has the highest number of SoulCycle locations.

A fired-up Portnoy caused a stir when he aired his now-ex’s dirty laundry in a handful of social media posts and podcast episodes in 2017.

“Best way to avoid calling 911? Don’t have your instructors f–k the girlfriend of head of major media company,” Portnoy wrote in one post alongside a message from SoulCylce warning its studios of possible protests.

His version of events and constant trolling of the fitness studio caused the #cuckcyle hashtag to go viral at the time.

Meanwhile, team Hochul’s own trolling of Portnoy appeared to fall flat with some social media users.

“Am I missing something by not understanding what having the most soul cycles has to do with people fleeing NY,” one X user queried.

“I’m honestly having a hard time figuring out if this is an insult or a compliment? Also people still go to soulcycle?” another asked.

One critic quipped: “How long did it take your press team to come up with this? Because while they were workshopping this line, more people were packing up and leaving.”
