The “Hockey Mom Madam” wants a judge to stop slamming her into the boards and show a little “compassion.”
Anna Gristina’s lawyer yesterday asked Manhattan Judge Juan Merchan to reduce her $2 million bond so she can leave Rikers Island and go care for a son with a heart murmur.
Gristina asked for the reduction “on the basis of compassion and recognition of not only the great amount of time she has already spent behind bars but also the medical needs of her son,” lawyer Norman Pattis wrote in his Manhattan Criminal Court motion.
Nick Gristina, 9, was diagnosed with the “cardiac anomaly” after his mom was sent to jail on Feb. 23. Nick’s doctor told the judge that most kids with a heart murmur recover with no permanent injury, but he didn’t cite Gristina’s absence as a contributing factor to its development in her son.
Gristina, a mother of four, is charged with running an Upper East Side brothel that catered to the city’s elite.
