The iconic three-story Victorian home that’s known as the Magic Castle caught fire Tuesday as responders fought to save the famous Hollywood venue.
The Los Angeles Fire Department announced that shortly after 5:30pm crews responded to a call of a fire at the world-famous home of magical arts in Los Angeles at 7001 W. Franklin Avenue.
Video from the location showed smoke billowing from the roof of the building, NBC news reported.
Fire crews responded to a report of a blaze in the attic of the iconic home. NBCLAKTLA reported that the fire was in the attic and firefighters worked to successfully knock down the blaze before it could spread. By 6:15pm it was officially “knocked down,” per the report.
“First-arriving companies are in offensive mode, coordinating roof ventilation, fire suppression, and salvage operations on the third floor,” the Los Angeles Fire Department announcement read.
At this point it is unclear what caused the fire to start or how much damage there was to the home.
Smoke could be seen billowing out of the roof of the famed Magic Castle in Hollywood. NBCLALAFD said no injuries were reported at this time, but paramedics were on scene helping several people.
The elegant victorian home has delighted fans of the magical realm for more than five decades as the home to the Academy of Magical Arts, according to the website
