A home intruder feening for drugs robbed an 85-year-old Queens woman — but was scared off by her Life Alert and fled, police said Thursday.
The woman told cops the robber got into her home near Kissena Park through a through basement window, then confronted her for cash and jewelry around 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, police said.
“Get up and give me your cash,” he said, according to police sources.
The woman handed the robber about $150 but he wasn’t satisfied and demanded to know where her jewelry was, police said. She refused to tell him and asked him to leave, cops said.
The man then pressed the button on her Life Alert, notifying authorities, according to an NYPD spokesman. Sources said he may have hit it while grabbing the woman.
The robbery was under investigation and no further details were immediately available.
