Five “career criminals” with a laundry list of alarming offenses were nabbed on the first day the Trump administration’s national crackdown on illegal immigrants reached New York City, The Post has learned.
In Queens, a Mexican national with a previous arrest for attempted murder was bagged, while a Mexican previously charged with three counts of rape and sexual assault was captured in the Bronx, according to law enforcement sources.
And in upper Manhattan, a Dominican national wanted for a double murder in their home country was also taken into custody.

DEA New YorkThose were just a few of the suspects arrested by Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) Monday, while officials from the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA), Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and other federal agencies partook in the raids and arrested more.
The raids began in the Big Apple before daybreak Tuesday, beginning in the Bronx and reaching all five boroughs by the time they ended.
Trump’s Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem even joined, riding in an armored car while agents knocked down apartment doors and hauled suspects off in shackles and cuffs.
Noem said one of their first arrests was “a criminal alien with kidnapping, assault and burglary charges.”
The feds nabbed Anderson Zambrano-Pacheco — a 25-year-old member of the violent Venezuelan Tren de Aragua gang suspected of partaking in an armed break-in of an apartment building in Aurora, Colo., that became an emblematic image of the border crisis.
ICE has made over 4,500 arrests since Trump took office.
The raids arrived in NYC after Trump ordered mass arrests and deportations of illegal immigrants across the country, with the first raids targeting sanctuary cities.
Over 7,300 illegal immigrants were arrested across the country last week — 1,179 on Sunday alone — while Trump’s newly appointed border czar Tom Homan has predicted millions will be deported by the time the crackdown is finished.
Trump declared a national emergency on the southern border shortly after he was sworn back into office on Jan. 20, and quickly deployed 1,500 troops from the US military to the border.
Within days the number of migrants being encountered at the border already began to decline, with Fox News reporting just under 600 people were encountered on Sunday — roughly half the number caught crossing a week earlier in the final days of the Biden administration, and thousands fewer than the 6,000-plus encountered daily during the height of the crisis.
