ALBANY — A onetime homeless Staten Island woman who “found” $10,000 in a long-lost account will help alert other New Yorkers that the state is sitting on $10 billion in unclaimed funds.
Penny Martin, 46, who was owned the money from an unclaimed life-insurance policy, will be recognized by state Comptroller Tom DiNapoli and Sen. Diane Savino (D-Staten Island) at a special event at the Forever Young Senior Center.
