A homeless man was arrested Friday for the drunken beatdown of an EMT worker who was attempting to treat him in Brooklyn, cops said.

Hussain Maqubool, 43, was charged with assault for allegedly beating the 55-year-old paramedic inside an ambulance earlier this month, according to police.

The two were in the back of the ambulance at East 15th Street and Kings Highway in Midwood around 12:15 p.m. Aug. 7 when Maqubool suddenly started punching him the medic in the chest.

The suspect, who was “highly intoxicated” at the time, then bolted from the ambulance.

The paramedic was treated for minor injuries at Maimonides Medical Center.

Maqubool was being held at the 61st Precinct Station house on Friday night.
