A 33-year-old homeless man was stabbed several times at Manhattan’s Penn Station in the middle of the day by a stranger who was acting erratically, police said Monday.
The victim told cops he had a verbal dispute with another man around 4 p.m. on April 30 on a subway platform in the station on 34th street, according to police. The dispute turned physical and the stranger pulled out a knife and plunged it into him several times, cops said.
The attacker was caught by surveillance cameras fleeing the station, video released by cops shows. The victim was taken to Bellevue Hospital in serious but stable condition.
Numerous homeless people have been spotted at the station in recent weeks, with the city on coronavirus shutdown.
