A homeless man had his pants catch fire in Chelsea early Tuesday after he fell asleep while smoking, cops said.

The unidentified man nodded off in the bitter cold on the corner of West 14th Street and Sixth Avenue around 3:15 a.m., police said.

He awoke with his pants in flames from the smoldering butt, and fortunately was not seriously injured, authorities said.
