An upstate couple married last weekend has drowned while honeymooning in Costa Rica.

Ruth Rowe and her husband, Bruce Loev of Pawling died Wednesday while swimming off the coast of Quepos, according to the Pawling Central School District, where Rowe was a teacher.

Rowe leaves behind a son and a daughter.
