A new cocktail lounge-art gallery is opening this month on the Lower East Side, in the Hotel on Rivington.

S’Zen — the word itself is a hybrid of the words scene and zen — is from The Rivington Hospitality Group and the mixologist/bar owner is Albert Trummer, of Apotheke and Sanatorium.

The 40-seat bar is accessed via the hotel’s second-floor lobby.

Filled with velvet sofas from the late Vladimir Kagan, the lounge will also feature rotating artwork, starting with the “Zen of Rock” collection from Peter Mars. The hotel also boasts Cafe Medi for dinner and late-night music and cocktails at J I A.

For S’Zen, Trummer has created cocktails with Japanese themes, like a matcha-infused Green Kimono, and the Panda, which is made with white and coconut milk.
