There’s a new sheriff in town and he has an interesting background — as a high-level whistleblower at the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
Edgar Domenech, a Queens native appointed to the post by Mayor Bloomberg yesterday, had served in the No. 2 position at the ATF until 2006, when he exposed questionable management practices and expenditures of his boss, who later resigned.
