SEYMOUR, Conn. — State police say a 15-year-old high school student has died after the vehicle he was riding in lost control trying to elude Seymour police.
The Republican American reports that the youngster, a passenger in the rear seat, died at the scene late Friday.
A spokesman at Yale-New Haven Hospital said Sunday that the driver, 19-year-old Eric H. Ramirez, is in serious condition.
Another youngster had minor injuries.
State police say a Seymour police officer tried to stop the car. Ramirez kept driving, lost control and drove off the road. The car struck an embankment, went airborne and hit a building.
The speed of the car and the reason police tried to stop it were not known.
A Seymour police spokesman said no additional information would be released until a report is completed.
