A jealous husband was carted off to serve two years prison today for hiring a hit man to chop off the hand of his straying, stripper wife — and bring it to him so he could get back his $17,000 wedding ring.

“I regret the situation that I had,” Rockefeller Auguste, 36, told a Manhattan judge. “I am deeply remorseful.”

Auguste was a law-abiding Brooklyn architectural draftsman when his new wife — a 26-year-old exotic dancer — began cheating on him and looting his bank account out of “Upwards of $50,000,” defense lawyer Harold Levy told reporters.

She even pocketed his deposit for their planned wedding reception before vanishing, Levy said. “She took him for everything he had.”

The hit man turned out to be an undercover cop. Auguste was “quite drunk when he spoke to him,” Levy said. “But he was mad at his wife. She had ruined his life.” The wife has since vanished, Levy added.
