Huma had outside jobs
Anthony Weiner’s wife spent her final months at the State Department as a part-time consultant — while she worked with outside clients, according to a report.
Huma Abedin consulted privately for her boss, then-Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton; for the William Jefferson Clinton Foundation; and for the global financial firm Teneo, which is tied to the Clintons.
She worked as a “special government employee” for the State Department at the same time as she did consulting gigs, according to a report yesterday on the Politico Web site.
Abedin and Weiner raked in an estimated $360,000 last year through consulting income, according to Politico.
Weiner — who is expected to join the mayoral race next week — resigned from Congress in a sexting scandal in 2011, while Abedin was pregnant.
Since March, she has worked as the head of Hillary Clinton’s transition team.
Abedin helped Teneo set up a speaking event for Bill Clinton and former British PM Tony Blair, sources told Politico.
