Human skeletal remains were discovered at Van Cortlandt Park in the Bronx Friday morning, police and law enforcement sources said.
A group of artifact hunters made the chilling discovery in a wooded section of the park, just off the southbound side of the Major Deegan Expressway around 11:38 a.m., according to cops and sources.

Photos showed the city’s Office of Chief Medical Examiner removing the remains from the scene.
Portions of the park were also cordoned off as the investigation continued.
