A human torso was found inside a suitcase that was floating in the East River near Governor’s Island on Wednesday evening, according to cops and law enforcement sources.
A passing vessel spotted the suitcase and alerted police before an NYPD Harbor Unit was dispatched at around 5:30 p.m., cops said.
Police opened the luggage and made the stomach-churning discovery.

EMS and medical examiner staff met with police at Pier 16 for further probing.
