An apparent human torso that investigators believe belonged to a woman was taken out with the trash in Queens – where sanitation workers found it discarded in a garbage bag early Monday, cops and sources said.

Two city Sanitation Department workers made the grisly discovery around 7 a.m. at 149th Avenue and Brookville Boulevard near the perimeter of Idlewild Park, according to the NYPD.

The city employees had loaded the covered remains into the hopper of a vehicle before noticing a foul odor, sources said.

The workers were concerned that the bag, which appeared to be wrapped in tape and rope according to a photo obtained by The Post, could contain a body and called 911, according to sources.

EMS workers later confirmed the remains appeared to belong to a woman, sources added.

Idlewild Park, a preserve bordering the north of JFK Airport, is home to one of the largest remaining saltwater marshes in Queens.

The city Office of Chief Medical Examiner will determine the cause of death and the identity of the body, police said.

The investigation into the findings remains ongoing.
