About 700 true-blue supporters gathered on Staten Island’s South Beach Saturday to honor NYPD officers.
It was a response to the Aug. 23 protest over the death of Eric Garner, who died after being arrested and put in a police chokehold.
“I’ve been feeling for years that the media and government are not only not honoring officers, they’re not respecting them,” said Honor Our Police organizer Ken Peterson, a retired NYPD detective.
