A New Jersey woman whose cheery demeanor changed markedly recently was found dead in her home, where her husband spent more than a day with her body before being charged with her murder.

Luisa Pleger, 47, a Rutgers University computer administrator from North Arlington, was discovered dead at about noon Friday after a concerned neighbor asked cops to check on her, officials said.

Her husband, Eric Pleger, 45, who was charged with murder and weapons possession, is being held on $2 million bail.

Luisa Pleger had been “deceased for quite some time,” acting prosecutor Gurbir Grewal said. The cause of death was not disclosed.
