Hydrofracking hearings due
The state Department of Environmental Conservation issued proposed “hydrofracking” regulations yesterday, prompting environmental groups to charge Gov. Cuomo with fast-tracking the controversial process.
But DEC spokeswoman Emily DeSantis said there’s no reason not to issue draft regulations, and she said it’s “very likely” the public comment period on both — which includes public hearings in Manhattan Nov. 30 — will result in revisions to the proposed regulations.
The Manhattan public hearings are set for the TriBeCa Performing Arts Center at 199 Chambers St. at 1 p.m. and 6 p.m.
