The 11-year-old boy who made headlines last year for stabbing an intruder who was attacking his mom told a Bronx jury on Friday that he simply had no other choice.

“I didn’t want my mom to die,” said the boy, now 12.

“He started hitting her … My mom was getting hurt. She was screaming,” the youngster recalled, noting how he “went to get a knife.”

The hero kid told jurors that he “poked” the alleged intruder, Brian Febus — who’s on trial for attempted murder — with the blade after he attempted to suffocate his mother, Denise Soto.

“There’s a robber in my house! He’s trying to kill my mom,” the boy can be heard telling police on the 911 call, which was played in court for a second time on Friday after being presented earlier in the week.

His mother took the stand Tuesday, when the call was first played, and described how she felt during the alleged assault — which occurred on her 32nd birthday.

“Desperate, scared,” Soto said. “I never expected that situation to happen to me.”

Her son first made headlines last year after he stabbed Febus and later came face-to-face with him at St. Barnabas Hospital.

The man’s defense attorneys argue that he was actually not a stranger to Soto, but rather the brother of her ex-boyfriend. He claims he was simply stopping by her home to pick up his brother’s belongings following their breakup.

“He didn’t have a weapon and he ended up stabbed in the back twice,” Febus’ lawyer, Angelo Petrigh, said in opening statements Monday.

“[Soto] felt trapped, anxious, and scared. That fear made her lie on the 911 call, lie to police officers at the hospital, and it will make her lie on the stand,” he added. “[Febus] never tried to kill her. He is not guilty.”

Febus is on trial in Bronx Supreme court. Closing arguments are slated to begin Monday morning.
