The former campaign manager for City Council Speaker Corey Johnson revealed Friday that he once composed an email claiming he was sexually abused by Johnson — but that it’s not true.

RJ Jordan said in a posting on Medium that he never sent the email drafted “years ago,” but someone got a copy and peddled it to a reporter who “listened to our side” and never wrote a story.

“So why am I writing this now?” he asked. “Because I want to make sure this doesn’t continue to unfairly hang over Corey and me. I feel I have to proactively address this violation of my privacy because people are trying to use my words from years ago to hurt my best friend.

“I want to set the record straight, particularly in the present moment, when many brave survivors of abuse are coming forward to tell their stories. I applaud their courage.

“But I was not sexually abused by Corey Johnson, as I once wrote in that leaked email. I did write out an email in which I vented my private thoughts, but I was not abused.”

Jordan, who served as Johnson’s campaign manager in 2013, said the two remain best friends — and that the speaker will be officiating at his wedding this summer.

He said wrote the email during “a time of extreme stress in [his] life.”

“I’m human,” Jordan said. “I was venting privately. I never sent it to Corey.”

It was unclear why Jordan went public with his story considering he claimed to have convinced a reporter not to write about it.

Jordan could not be reached for comment, but ended his Friday post saying he “genuinely hopes [it] resolves the matter” and would not be talking “about this anymore.”

Johnson, through a spokeswoman, declined comment.
