A Manhattan man has filed a class-action lawsuit against the DMV, accusing it of raking in $60 million a year selling drivers’ personal information to third parties without giving motorists the opportunity to keep their data private.

Erik Gordon, a Florida resident who keeps a home in the city, filed the $1 million suit after he was targeted by a harassment campaign following an altercation with another driver.

That driver, Aron Leifer, put Gordon’s license-plate number into an online investigative service and got his name and home address.

Leifer called Gordon’s assistant, mom and dad’s secretary and falsely accused him of sexually assaulting a woman. Gordon sued Leifer in federal court but lost.

Reps for the DMV did not return messages seeking comment.
