A man was arrested Thursday for spray-painting “KKK” and the image of a burning cross over an Albany Black Lives Matter mural, cops said.
Ian Rawlinson, 43, was slapped with a charge of criminal mischief as a hate crime for vandalizing the mural on Lark Street between Hudson Avenue and Lancaster Street, Albany police said.
Police were called at 3:40 p.m. on a report of someone defacing the mural with white paint. They arrested Rawlinson shortly afterwards, according to a social media post from the department.
The Albany resident is scheduled to be arraigned Friday morning, police said.
