The icepick-wielding thug preying on vulnerable women in apartment-building elevators had close-knit Stuyvesant Town residents on edge yesterday.

The mugger struck twice there in seven minutes on Thursday — brazenly attacking two women in two separate high-rises plastered with his mug as a warning to residents.

“They have posters all over the elevators but you have to be careful,” said 30-year resident Max Salazar.

The fliers went up a day after the goon preyed on a 63-year-old woman in neighboring Peter Cooper Village on Nov. 22.

Police have been flooded with tips after the suspect’s image was released to the media and are investigating possible leads, sources said.
