A hulking career mugger is going to prison for at least 18 years for robbing two terrified moms with an ice pick in separate attacks in Stuyvesant Town elevators last December.
John Martinez, 40, pleaded guilty yesterday to attempted robbery for the two ice-pick muggings and a November 2010 knifepoint mugging at Peter Cooper Village.
He remains on the hook for two additional elevator robberies of women in The Bronx — one committed with a knife, the other with an ice pick.
In both Stuyvesant Town ice- pick muggings, Martinez robbed the women in front of their young children.
