The 18-year-old who was killed in a shooting after a graduation ceremony at Fairfield High School was wearing his cap and gown when he was shot, officials said, as he was identified Saturday as Jamario Baker.
The Fairfield Police Department confirmed Baker as the victim of Wednesday night’s shooting which unfolded in the parking lot near Schafer Stadium shortly after the Sem Yeto High School commencement ceremony held at Fairfield High School.
On Thursday, Fairfield Mayor Catherine Moy said Baker had just received his diploma from Sem Yeto High School, a continuation high school, moments before the violence.

The violence broke out around 7:15 p.m. and drew a large emergency response to the stadium area.
The event was attended by about 1,000 people with police saying there were hundreds of potential witnesses.
Three other people ages 11, 20 and 25 were wounded in the shooting.
As of Saturday, police said no suspects are in custody and the investigation remains active.
The department has not released any details about a possible suspect.

There are no suspects in custody and an investigation into the deadly incident remains ongoing, according to the Fairfield Police Department. KGOOn Friday, police said they were seeking any photos, videos, or information from the time of the shooting and urged anyone with material or knowledge to contact the Fairfield Police Department.
“Detectives are working diligently to follow all available leads and are committed to bringing those responsible for this senseless act of violence to justice,” the department said Saturday.
