Indicted ex-Senate Majority Leader Dean Skelos is becoming an issue in the hot race for Nassau County district attorney.

Acting Democratic DA Madeline Singas has unveiled a new 30-second TV ad [above] linking her GOP opponent Kate Murray to Skelos, who faces trial on corruption charges.

While the narrator claims that Hempstead Town Supervisor Murray is a “career politician” who is unqualified to be DA, two photos appear showing her with a smiling Skelos.

Skelos is accused of squeezing a real estate developer and a medical malpractice insurance firm to enrich his son, Adam, with no-show jobs and business deals. Skelos maintains his innocence and will face trial.

Singas took over as DA after her boss, Kathleen Rice, was elected to Congress.

In its own TV ad, the Murray campaign attacked Singas for not removing a top staffer whose wife claims he is a twisted fetishist and spouse abuser.
