A Bronx infant was rushed to the hospital with a head injury in a possible shaken baby syndrome case, police sources said Monday.
Eight-month-old Cadyn Cruz’s father discovered the boy having a seizure in their Barker Avenue home around 2:30 a.m. Sunday, according to police.
The father called police, but couldn’t offer any explanation for the injuries. The child was unresponsive with visible head trauma when police arrived.
Little Cadyn was rushed to Jacobi Medical Center.
Doctors discovered Cadyn suffering bleeding on the brain that is consistent with shaken baby syndrome, police sources said.
Officers from the 49th precinct referred the case to the Bronx Child Abuse Squad, who will investigate the incident for possible child abuse.
