This is the heartbreaking scene inside the Bronx apartment where precious baby sisters Ibanez Ambrose, 2, and Scylee Ambrose, 1, met their death as steam scalded them from a radiator that exploded as they slept.
The letters of the alphabet are on the wall of the girls’ room. A crib and a playpen sit side-by-side, four to five feet from the spot where the time-bomb of a radiator once stood. It was removed before this video was shot.
Near the cribs there’s a a red tricycle with a push handle.There’s also a small television. Toys spill from a box on the floor. More toys sit atop two bare mattresses.

Ibanez and Scylee suffered burns over 70 percent of their bodies. Police sources said their parents, Peter and Danielle Ambrose, are recovering drug addicts, and have been the subject of six child welfare cases in New York City, Maine and New Hampshire.
Danielle Ambrose left the building at 720 Hunts Point Ave. at 10:12 a.m. Wednesday, and when she returned at 11:46 a.m., 94 minutes later, it was too late to save her daughters.
The childrens’ father was napping on the couch while Danielle was out.
