Facing a crime surge in upper Manhattan’s 34th Precinct, the NYPD has agreed to give residents what they’ve been clamoring for — civilian patrols.
Volunteers in such neighborhoods as Inwood and Isham Park will be trained in what to look for and when to call for police aid.
“People want to … help ” said NYPD Community Affairs Officer Haydee Pabey, adding, “[They] have been wanting this for a long time.”
