Iraq’s military said an airstrike by US-led coalition hit its forces Friday, the first reported friendly-fire incident since American jets began bombing ISIS militants in the country last year, The Washington Post reported.

One officer wounded in the strike south of Fallujah said 25 soldiers were killed and 37 wounded.

Army Col. Steve Warren, a US military spokesman in Baghdad, said the strike is under investigation.
