JetBlue Airways has been fined $90,000 for failing to tell passengers that they were free to get off a long-delayed San Francisco-bound plane stuck at JFK Airport.
Flight 645 — its doors open — sat at a terminal gate for more than two hours past its departure time on March 3, the feds said.
This marks just the second time that the Department of Transportation has fined an airline under a rule that went into effect last year.
“Passengers must be told if they are able to leave the plane,” Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood stressed.
