Forget Lee. Hurricane Katia yesterday became a Category 3 storm off the coast of Bermuda — and is expected to send rough surf and strong rip currents along New York’s beaches over the next few days.

New Yorkers can also expect to experience occasional rain through the week as a result of weakening Tropical Storm Lee, but neither storm is likely to put the tri-state area at risk for flooding.
