Brace yourselves, New Yorkers: It’s supposed to snow on the first day of spring.

Up to 3 inches of snow could blanket the Big Apple on Friday. Forecasters also expect temperatures to be about 15 degrees below normal, staying between the 30s and 40s.

The snow should start falling around 9 a.m. and continue throughout the day until sundown. Warmer ground temperatures should mean the snow won’t stick, but travel will likely be hampered by slippery roads, according to New York Metro Weather.

Once the snow subsides, residents should expect some rain or a wintry mix overnight, meteorologists said.
