The Long Island couple who struck it rich claimed their $162 million Mega Millions jackpot yesterday– but went all the way up to a state lottery office in Fishkill in an apparent bid to avoid the press.
The winners want to remain anonymous until they are introduced to the public at a press conference on Long Island this week, said lottery spokeswoman Jennifer Givner.
The prize, which will be about $100 million after taxes, is the largest ever on Long Island.
