A Westchester man who killed his girlfriend’s dog by snapping its spine was sentenced yesterday to a year in jail.

Jonathan King, 21, of Yorktown admitted in March that he killed Libra, a Yorkshire terrier mix, last year by yanking its collar hard enough to dislocate its head from its spine. The Westchester DA’s Office said there was no apparent motive.
