Jailer’s new cover rap
A female correction officer, acquitted in a 2007 inmate beating and cover-up in Queens, landed back in court yesterday — facing coercion charges in the case.
Krystal Mack, 32, found not guilty of beating convicted heroin smuggler Rex Eguridu, is accused in Brooklyn federal court of telling Correction Officer Leslie Andrews not to report the beating.
Mack’s lawyer, Brian Perksin, called the new case “a joke.”
Andrews, he said “filed five reports that never mention my client, and she kept a diary that never mentions my client.”
Three other officers were convicted of obstructing justice after the beating of Eguridu after he yelled to Mack, “Hey, baby! You look beautiful today!”.
