The race to score coveted cheap seats to Jay-Z’s eight shows christening Brooklyn’s new Barclays Center was over almost as fast as it began.

Five of the eight concerts the rap star is hosting in September and October sold out within hours after a public sale tipped off yesterday, according to Ticketmaster.
