Former NBA player Jayson Williams flashed a wide grin for his jailhouse intake shot earlier this month before starting his five-year sentence.

His reasons to smile include cable TV, stellar recreational facilities, and the likelihood of a private cell.

Williams, 42, was transferred to the Mid-State Correctional Facility in Wrightstown, NJ, on March 10 after being sentenced for the 2002 shooting death of his limousine driver, Costas Christofi.

Mid-State’s recreation yard has a basketball court, football field, racquetball court and gym, which inmates can access for an hour each day, said spokesman Matt Schuman.
