Former NBA star Jayson Williams’ blood alcohol level was three times the legal limit when he crashed his SUV last week, according to a new report.
Williams’ registered a .24, according to TMZ.com.
He drove into oncoming traffic before hitting a tree in the accident at East 18th Street and Avenue C.
Williams, who fractured his neck in the accident, was charged with DWI after allegedly refusing to take a breath test at the scene, which was littered with debris from his damaged vehicle.
Williams had been at the Upper East Side bar Aces & Eights at 1:30 a.m., the owner said.
One witness said that Williams had been boozing with college kids.
Earlier today, Williams took responsibility for accidentally shooting his limousine driver to death eight years ago by pleading guilty Monday to assault and agreeing to serve at least 18 months in prison.
