A mechanic at JFK airport severed his finger today when he fell into a baggage belt, authorities said.

Berto Duran, 56, was about to service a baggage belt in a Terminal One when he tripped and fell at 10:05 a.m., said a spokesman for the Port Authority.

The Oxford Tech Services worker completely severed his left index finger and was rushed to Bellevue Hospital, officials said.
