JFK plotter cops a plea
A Guyanese national charged in a plot to blow up fuel lines at Kennedy Airport pleaded guilty yesterday to providing material support to terrorists.
On the eve of his criminal trial, Abdel Nur, 60, who was extradited from Trinidad in 2007 to stand trial, acted as a go-between with the plot’s alleged mastermind, Russell Defreitas, and the radical Islamic group Jamat al Muslimeen in the Caribbean.
He now faces a possible sentence of 15 years in prison, a $250,000 fine and certain deportation.
