ALBANY — A longtime maintenance supervisor in the Democrat-controlled Assembly has been fired amidst a criminal probe of the alleged sale of state jobs, The Post has learned.
A spokesman for Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver confirmed the firing earlier this month of Anthony Evans, 45, a 12-year Assembly employee.
A source said Assembly officials had received information that Evans, who was paid $60,000 a year, sought cash payments from individuals hoping to be hired for maintenance jobs.
Attempts to reach Evans for comment were unsuccessful.
