Former Rep. Joe Crowley finally returned his City Hall-issued parking placard on Monday — nearly three months after leaving office.
The 10-term Queens Democrat — who was upset by Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez in last June’s congressional primary — was supposed to give back the government parking permit after leaving Congress on Jan. 1.
Despite Mayor Bill de Blasio’s promise to crack down on parking placard abuse, it took an inquiry from The Post to get City Hall to ask Crowley to hand his over.
“We’ll be sending someone to pick it up today,” a mayoral spokesman said Monday. By day’s end, the permit was back in the city’s possession.
De Blasio backed Crowley in his failed re-election bid against Ocasio-Cortez and has been a longtime ally of the Queens power broker.
A Crowley spokesperson declined to say why the permit, which expired on Feb. 1, wasn’t returned earlier.
