‘Joint’ disagreement
ALBANY — Senate Majority Leader Dean Skelos said yesterday he won’t support Gov. Cuomo’s proposal to decriminalize public pot possession in its current form.
“Just being able to walk around with 10 joints in each ear and it would only be a violation — I think that’s wrong,” Skelos (R-LI) told reporters yesterday.
Cuomo was open to compromise on his bill to make public possession of up to 25 grams of pot — nearly an ounce — a violation rather than a misdemeanor. The Assembly plans to take up the bill next week.
