She’s nothing special.
That was the ruling of a Manhattan judge who denied a top modeling agency’s attempt to bar catwalker Ginta Lapina from working for a competitor after breaking her contract.
Justice Manuel Mendez shot down Women Model Management’s claim that Lapina, an alluring Latvian who has strutted for Louis Vuitton and Marc Jacobs, was “irreplaceable talent.”
Under the law, the in- demand blonde is not “unique or extraordinary,” Mendez ruled, because she is “simply one of a number of models whom [the agency] manages.”
The 25-year-old stunner is expected to make more than $1 million this year.
Women Model, which takes 15 percent of Lapina’s bookings, will sue her for damages in arbitration, said the agency’s lawyer.
